Vulcaniser commits suicide in Lagos

A middle aged man, Afape Fatai, has committed suicide in Lagos State.Fatai, who resided at 28, Orioji Olarewaju Close, Ijaiye, a suburb of Lagos, was said to have hanged himself in the kitchen.
His body was discovered around 06.00am on Saturday by his neighbours who raised an alarm.

 The man who was married with two children,was said to have woken up from bed and headed for the kitchen where he allegedly hanged himself.A witness told Punch ......

“The man was married with two children. He also had two motorcycles, which he gave out for people to work for him.

“He slept in the room with his wife and left very early in the morning. Nobody suspected anything until when his corpse was discovered in the kitchen, where all the tenants in the house prepare their food.

“Somebody raised the alarm and that attracted a crowd into the place. They removed the rope and brought down the corpse. He did not write any note or dropped any hint as to why he killed himself. Even his wife said she could not explain what happened to him.”

The matter was reported at Meiran Police station and policemen from the station came and removed the corpse to Ijaiye General Hospital morgue for autopsy after taking his photograph.
