Dakuku Peterside escapes assassination in Rivers, orderly shot

The Department of State Services, DSS, has foiled an assassination attempt on the life of the Director General of NIMASA, Dakuku Peterside.
Heavily armed men suspected to be thugs loyal to a political party engaged the DSS in a gun-battle at UTC Junction, Old GRA, Port Harcourt.

One of the DSS officers, who is assigned to Dakuku Peterside (name withheld) was hit in the leg.One of the security details told DAILY POST that, 
“We got information that PDP thugs want to swap results at the collation centre at Isiokpo in Ikwerre Local government area. We mobilised to go and stop the thugs. On our way back to Port Harcourt, we noticed that a car was trailing us. At UTC junction, we decided to be sure of the people trailing us; the youths started shooting sporadically. My boss was hit.”
In the meantime, the Chief of Staff to Nyesom Wike, the Rivers state Governor, Emeka Woke has been arrested by the DSS in connection with the attack on Dakuku Peterside.
The military has reinforced to Dakuku’s home.
