Mario Balotelli’s stock has fallen dramatically over the past 12 months. Liverpool, it seems, no longer want the controversial striker while AC Milan are unlikely to sign him on a permanent basis at the end of the season.
Balotelli scored four goals in 28 appearances for Liverpool last term - a pitiful return for the Reds’ £16 million investment - and, due to injuries, has been limited to four appearances for Milan since rejoining the Italian giants on a season-long loan deal in the summer.
Now 25, it seems unlikely that Balotelli will ever fulfil his potential, but his current Milan teammate Diego Lopez has revealed that the striker still dreams of signing for Real Madrid.
"Do you know what?” the goalkeeper told Marca Plus, according to talkSPORT. “His dream is to play for Real Madrid.”
We’re not convinced Real Madrid president Florentino Perez will be particularly enthused by Lopez’s admission.
