Here is the Photo of the lion killed at Jos Wildlife Park yesterday

The lion was shot dead today after it escaped from its enclosure at Jos Wildlife Park. But couldn't they have used tranquilizer instead of shooting it dead?

The lion is obviously not looking well cared for, looks too lean compared to other lions i see somewhere else, so they won't be bothered killing it instead of using a tranquilizer.
